Mystery Photo Number 2 from N/L No 10 revealed:

Dreamcatcher and Val Jones

Hello again,

appaloosa horseThis is getting embarrassing, twice in a row as mystery photo, well embarrassment over.  This time I am mystery photo no 2 with my friend Mandy she is handling Dreamcatcher who is Redbrook Capcicara's foal.  If you remember from the last newsletter, Capcicara was meant to be a surprise birthday present.  Well the story goes back a little further, here goes..

This woman bought a five month old colt, by the time he was ten months old he was for sale!  A local meat man was going to buy Jack, but could not load him.  I didn't want to help so I went home.  Before I went, I said to Jo if he won't load, I will pay what the meat man was paying.  An hour later Jo was at the door telling me I had just bought Jack.Opps!  Now I had to phone Bernie, I said "you know you like Jack" "yes" said Bernie; "well you've just bought him!"  I continued to tell Bernie the story, and he was happy about it.

Jack grew and grew, he ended up 17.2hh with a temperament and attitude to die for, he was great.  When I heard Jack's mum had just had another foal and it was spotted, I just had to have her, which as you all know I did (spoilt or wot!)

Jack and Capcicars's mum was a big girl.  Her name was Big Pat, she was 16.2hh of pure dormant muscle a cob X shire.  Capcicara's dad is Capitall Luke, so yes Capcicara is a cob x shire x TB x Appaloosa, a real part bred!  Her daughter Dreamcatcher, is all of that and more, her dad is Dance with Wolves.  On her first outing she won the part bred class at Cheltenham, not bad at six weeks old.

As far as I can see, they all have the temperament and attitude I like, and we have a go at anything, side saddle, western, hunting, show jumping, in-hand and ridden showing, we have even done hunting in western gear!  We have a go at it all, we might not be any good but who cares we have a go!
