Mystery Photo Number 1 from N/L No. 12

Exbury Aztec and Angela Sherwin

Aztec (Azy) is a 15.2hh chestnut blanket spot gelding from the Exbury Stud. Sire is Amazing Moonstruck and his dam is Miss Chocolate Money.

I brought Aztec (Azy) after seeing him at the 2001 National Show. I initially went down to Rodbaston just to watch the show, but saw a horse there on the Saturday that I'd liked, however when I went back on the Sunday with husband in tow I found out that it had already been sold. This is where Azy enters the story. Joe Mutimer saw my hubby pick up the For Sale list and being the excellent sales woman she is asked if we were looking to buy. She said that she had got an Appy for sale and took us to the stable to see Azy.

He was two years old then. He is now four and this Spring he was started Western. I hope to do English and Western with him, however we had a set back after arriving home from his schooling. He suffered a kick and so had to take time out to heal. However he is now fully recovered and schooling has recommenced.

He was very successful in the In Hand show ring last year and gets attention from people wherever he goes. Everyone comments what a lovely temperament he has. He is spoilt rotten and my bank balance hasn't been the same since I got him. He's well known for having a good selection of rugs, more coats than me and my husband put together. He's a super horse a real character and my best friend. I waited 34 years for this horse, he's the horse of my dreams.
