An Appaloosa gelding called 'Paul' by Brian & Sheila Wilson

I have enclosed some photos of our leopard gelding Paul (Capitall Paul), showing how laid back he is.  He is a leopard spot gelding at 16.2hh.  He is one of eight appaloosas we have here, the youngest being Joe a few spot colt born May 2003.  We hand reared him, due to his mother having no milk.  We have called him Saltcreek Apache Joe .

Paul is six years old.  We bought him as a sad looking 3 year old.  Some friends of ours, Mr & Mrs Sillitoe had bred him and sold him as a foal, but due to unforeseen circumstances the owner couldn't keep him so he arrived back at the Sillitoes to be sold again.  They rang us and we went to see him and we fell in love with him right away.  We showed him last year and he did very well so we are looking forward to this year's shows.  In October last year Paul represented the ApHC UK at Harrogate.  He and his rider Gemma put on a lovely show.  We are very proud of them both.

My thanks go to Brian and Sheila for writing in.  Not only is Paul very laid back he is also very clever!  Congratulations for your success at the ApHC UK Northern Show.  Paul was the most colourful champion and Ridden Show Champion - well done!
