ApHC UK 2004 SOUTHERN SHOW REPORT

Just a brief report on this show.  Thankfully as this was being held outdoors at Newmans Farm, the weather was kind and we had a lovely hot sunny day.  Considering this was our first ever Southern regional show, the entries were good and I was very grateful to all the kind Members who supported the show, and those who proffered help on the day.   We had a BBQ on the Saturday Evening and everyone enjoyed the get-together - Thanks for the Music, Disco Dev!  May I say a very BIG THANK YOU to our Show Secretary, Anne Batley for all her hard work, and for doubling up as Steward for the day, also thanks a million to Di Wilson and her grand-daughter for coming up from Cornwall and running the entries on the day, to Joe Mutimer for manning the Shop, also to WES members Vanessa Pidgeon and Kiki Moray for making a special effort to come and help.   I must also thank Bob Mayhew for judging the Western and Halter classes, and to Paul and Anne Groocock for judging the English In-hand & English ridden classes.   Most of all, thank you to the competitors for making the show such a great success - maybe next year we shall hire a big venue now I know I can count on your brilliant support!

Joyce Nutland

Show Report from Lee Jose

A big thanks to Joyce & Jim Nutland for holding the show at their home and letting us all invade, also to Anne Batley for the huge amount of work she put in to arrange this.

Saturday evening was good fun with music and bbq, meeting up with people you hadn't seen for a while and generally having a nice time.

Sunday was well attended for a first show and with a good friendly atmosphere the show got underway.  There seemed to be plenty of classes for all Western and English, riding and in-hand.  I enjoyed it very much and everybody else seemed more than happy.  I hope this will be a yearly event and will grow.

Anyway good luck to everyone showing this year and thanks to everyone who made this possible.
