Description:-

A striking boldly marked black near leopard stallion with tremendous presence and an exceptional pedigree dating back to the famous triple crown race winner Secretariat.  Appolo has an excellent temperament and kind willing nature making him versatile and easy to handle.  He has very good conformation and paces and has the ability to perform in different disciplines from dressage, show jumping and cross country to western riding.  He has consistently thrown highly coloured foals including leopards and blankets.  His foals are often very friendly, bold and eager to learn and inherit his excellent temperament, hence our motto "Breed a friend for life".

Stud Information:-

We have been breeding appaloosas for over 15 years having taken the decision to breed our mare Capitall Edna to First Draft.  Edna had two colts by First Draft.  Tuscany Appolo was the first colt born followed by his full brother, the gelding Tuscany Talos.  More recently it has been Talos who has represented the stud in the show ring (whilst Appolo concentrates on his stud career) at the ApHC UK & BAPS national shows in ridden showing classes, show jumping, dressage, western riding and cross country.  Talos has twice won the Most Versatile Appaloosa award at the ApHC UK national show.  He also competes in affiliated dressage.  Tuscany Appolo has consistently thrown quality progeny including the ApHC UK Part Bred Champion in 2006, Wolfgang Speckled Amazon and the ApHC UK Eastern Show Champion Tuscany Eros now resident in Ireland.  Tuscany is the prefix name for the stud and we use this for all the foals we breed.  You will have noticed that we have followed a Greek theme using the names of Greek Gods and characters from Greek mythology to name our foals. 

Facilities:-

The stud offers natural coverings only and takes visiting mares from March to July each year. The stud has facilities for both grass and stable livery if required.  A charge of £3.50 per day is payable for grass livery whilst your mare is at our premises.  If you require any special arrangements feed etc this can be organised.   Mares must arrive for covering with written proof of a clear clitoral and endometrial swab dated within four weeks and with their hind shoes removed.  We recommend scanning for pregnancy at approximately 14 days of the last day of covering and again 14 days later.  It is advisable to book your mare in for covering in advance as we take a restricted number of mares.  We welcome visitors who are interested in meeting Appolo and want to have a look around the stud before bringing their mares.  We often have young stock available to view as well.
